I don't care how old a man gets, there is always that little kid inside of him that is thrilled to the core when presented a new "toy".
Whether its a new universal remote, a new hair clipper kit, or a new car (especially a new car), they will spend endless hours learning the ends and outs of it (and they'll stay out of trouble-if only for a little while).
They say you can't buy love. But its never been said that you can't celebrate love. Sometimes it takes an occasional gift to bring the spark back into his eyes. And in doing so, you will smile knowing that you are the source of that joy.
So on a day that is not a holiday or a special occasion, surprize your boy with a brand new toy. He'll love you for thinking of him, and you will feel the love ten times over!

Relationships-Is he/she the one for you?
At the end of the day, we are who we are. We can "modify" and "adapt",but we don't really change who we are. The good in all of as well as the bad has always existed within;it just takes certain experiences to bring those things out in us.
Too many times we feel as though we can change our loved ones. But, if we do not accept who they are in the first place then we must admit that they are not really for us. God created us all-so who are we to think that we can re-create another person?
Sure, we can assist, rehabiliate, teach, request, demand...and the list goes on;but the change in actions that another person makes is by choice,not necessarily by nature.
If you are with someone and feel that they could be much much better-then, of course, try to help them. But don't be disappointed if change isn't happening. And if all attempts fail, don't be afraid to realize that perhaps the person you are with may not be the person who is meant for you.
If you think about it, there were clues when you first began dating the person. Back then you probably didn't want to admit it-you felt that he/she would change or that those little pet-peave irritators would be something you could tolerate. But let me just tell you that if that was the case then you may have overlooked people that were actually more compatable with you.
Be fair AND honest with yourself. The truth hurts-but feeling unhappy and misplaced hurts far more.

Joy Stealers
Sometimes your better-half tries to steal your joy. I don't know if it's something that they are just going through, if they are unhappy with themselves, or they just want to be plain mean. But whatever the reason, if you just turn it around on them and make them understand how stupid they are being instead of being a victim and just taking it, you'll come out on top.
I've dealt with several disfunctional relationships. I dealt with this one guy for 11 years off and on, and if I learned nothing else from that experience I learned #1 not to back-track to relationships that are over and done with and #2 a person will only do to you what you allow them to do.
Sometimes you have to stand up for yourself and just be brave enough to suffer (or relish) in the consequences. Have standards-if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
Name calling, for instance, is a definite"no-no" in my book. I think it's childish, it's insensitive, it's insulting, and it just shows that the person calling you the names is an idiot-plain and simple. If you are called a "Dumb ass" for instance, and the one who is calling you that name is in fact not smarter than you, then you should just laugh in his/her face because I suppose that's the best they could come up with.
And if they are insulting you on the amount of money you make, but they themselves actually depend on you (wheter they want to admit it or not), then you should just take in consideration that you are in a better position than they are and that they are just mad because they can't match your strength, so they try to knock you off balance.
It's called verbal and emotional abuse. Look it up. It's a sickness that they have and unfortunatly, so many of these people exist in the world. To stoop to name calling shows a lack of communication skills and/or vocabulary skills. Ask them to take an IQ test, and see who comes out on top. Typically, it's the one who does not call names, does not bully, and can make it on their own if the other one leaves. They pick on you because they know that you are better than them and it makes them feel good to piss on you-when in fact, the world is pissing on them.
Stay strong and believe in yourself. Don't believe the things they say to you because why would you believe an idiot?
Let go and let God.

Fashionable Education
For the past few years (and even twenty years ago when I was in school), the topic of fashion for pre-teens and teenagers has been a very controversal one. Peer pressure, economic status, entertainment influence, and competition have been some of the sub-topics that have centered around the discussion of whether or not public schools should enforce a uniformed dress code.
Mine is a simple take on the topic; I think wearing uniforms in the schools are a good thing.
For one, if all the students conform to one standard code of uniform, there will be less competition in terms of who dresses better than who. Children who come from families that are on the lower end of the economic toll would be equal to those more fortunate, and economic status won't factor into what is already a difficult stage in adolence.
Some would argue that children will find one way or another to still compete with each other. If they can't pick on each other about whose clothes are more in style or more expensive, then they will begin to pick on other things (whose "ugly" and whose "cute", etc.). But that's where more parental influence comes into play. You teach your child that everyone is beautiful in his or her own way, and you make sure that they understand that getting along with each other and accepting people for who they are could, in fact, bring more peace in the school systems and therefore in the community.
These days, even the richer families find themselves struggling with higher gas prices, food costs, and the cost of living.
Russell E. Eppinger wrote an article in 2001 titled "SCHOOL UNIFORMS: Does What Students Wear Really Make A Difference?". In it, he discussed the freedoms of public school systems dress codes-very few restraints and the tendacy to go above and beyond the expectatons; body piercings, trench coats (this was mentioned in referece to the Columbine incident), and how in hotter months girls showed more of their body. These were some of the negative reasons as to why uniforms would be a good thing. In fact, the government stepped in and pretty much left it up to the individual schools whether or not they would enforce uniforms in their dress codes.
I recently wrote an article about how the kids were wearing their pants hanging down and exposing their underware. This problem is one that I am very passionate about. I twinge at the sight of guys (and girls) wearing their pants hanging down and exposing boxers or thongs. I've even had the unfortunate experience of seeing adults wearing their cloths in this same manner. Enforcing school uniforms would cut down on this discrase.
Even though a lot of the public schools have enforced the uniform policy, some parents are still very much against it. But I would like to point out that buying uniforms could cut down on the costs of clothing, and in times like these that's a good thing. And not only does this save money, but it also promotes school spirt and takes away from distractions so that the students can concentrate more on education.
I am in no way stating that enforcing and participating in school uniforms will solve all the problems that exist inside of the schools, but it will be one less thing that will factor in. Also, schools could possibly get more funding from outside sponsors if they "look the part".
In schools where the majority of the children are living in poverty, uniforms could take away from a lot of the stress of trying to "compete with the Jones'". Khaki pants and a black top doesn't scream out "My family earns $100,000 per year whereas yours only earns $25,000". What it does is scream out "We are the same and we are here for the same thing, so let's focus on the good things and not the negative ones".
I have a cousin who is totally against schools enforcing uniforms. She's very fashion conscious and is thrilled that her kids have "fly" clothing. Her family is on the lower economic latter, but they find great deals on discout name brand clothes and it seems that what they wear, at times, defines who they are preceived to be. I think this is materialistic, and the problem arizes when she is willig to spend a lot of money on clothing even when there is little or no food in the home. So once again, I have to think that school uniforms will allow for families to spend the money more wisely, and eventually this could assist us in getting out of our financial bottomless pits.
Three pair of black pants, two pair of khaki pants, four to five black polo shirts, and of course socks,t-shirs, and underwear along with two or three pair of nice shoes should tie up a lot of wasted money. And these are clothes that can be passed down to the younger sibblings if their school uses the same uniform colors. If you wash the clothes once a week and really take care of them, they could last the entire school year and save tons and tons on seasonal clothes shopping. And let's be honest...wearing uniforms will teach out children to look professioal, which will help them when they grow up and enter the work force.
There are a lot of positive reasons for supporting uniforms in the schools. A lot more than the ones I've stated.

How Safe is Safe?
So many of my friends and family have been sending me this YOUTube video (shown at the end of this article) about this man who has aids and is purposely spreading the virus to promiscuous women who aren't careful enough to demand/request condom usage when engaging in intercourse with him. So, of course, I forwarded the video to my friends and family, and of course my husband, because with something this serious it's your duty to spread the word.

Last night my youngest sister and I had drinks at one of my best friend's (my old roommate from back in the day) house. I mentioned the video again, and how scary the thought of one tiny mistake costing you your life. My friend and I told my sister about how back in the day we had our little bachelorette pad and it was three of us living there, with guys coming in and out whenever we wanted. Back then we were free. I had the best room in the house, with sheer curtains surrounding my bed and this huge vase filled with every kind of condom you could think of (different colors, brands, flavors, etc.) to add to the whole "playa" decor, but also for protection to and for anyone who came to visit us. And even though we were aware of the Aids scare, it never occurred to us that anyone would purposely try to infect other's just out of spite. We practiced safe sex...but is any sex really a hundred percent safe?
What about one-night-stands? What about times when you "think" you know someone and you feel safe, and just go for it without condom use? How many times have you actually said to someone, "before we have sex without protection, let's go get tested." And not just for HIV, but for any STD's in general.
Bacterial Infections are one of the most common STD's that women get that unless both partners are treated, it could just continue to be just passed on and on between the two of them, and onto any new sexual partners they may engage with.
If something as common as a bacterial infection could be such a huge issue, what does that say about HIV/AIDS(something just as common, unfortunately, but not as detectable)? Most women who get bacterial infections only get treated themselves because if they don't, they'll continue to have a smelly discharge that will be noticeable by other's, but since the men don't show symptoms, they seldom will even tell the men because they are embarrassed. How many people don't advise other's that they have a STD because they are too embarrassed? How many people won't go get tested because they are too scared to know if they have something? How many times statistically have condoms broken or slipped off during the act? Yes, the guy in the video is guilty, of knowingly passing on the HIV/AIDS virus, but the women who were infected were also guilty of not playing it safe.
Aids was first identified in the USA in 1981. At the end of 2006, it was estimated that 448,871 people in the USA were infected by the HIV/AIDS virus. As of 2008, it is estimated that there are over one million victims of this disease, and that each year the numbers will increase by 40,000 people. This is in the USA alone-there are higher numbers if you look worldwide. According to the UNTIL THERE'S A CURE website at http://www.until.org:
* An estimated one million people are currently living with HIV in the United States, with approximately 40,000 new infections occurring each year.
* 70 percent of these new infections occur in men and 30 percent occur in women.
* By race, 54 percent of the new infections in the United States occur among African Americans, and 64 percent of the new infections in women occur in African American women.
* 75 percent of the new infections in women are heterosexually transmitted.
* Half of all new infections in the United States occur in people 25 years of age or younger.
This world is too screwed up for ANYONE to be too afraid, lazy, embarrassed, full of pride, secretive, private, or any other reason not to get tested. Check out this dude's video, and then ask yourself, "Could I have been at risk at any point of my life, even in my current relationship?" There's a 20 minute HIV screening that is FREE in most cities, and it can even be anonymous if you wish. I've got my little HIV/AIDS NEGATIVE card with me, and even have a pic of the cards saved in my phone to show anyone and everyone that will listen to this message: GET TESTED. Remember, it only takes on time to lose a lifetime.

Recap: A Shot At Love 2 With Tila Tequila | Ep. 2 | 'A Full House'
It's time to move in, Guys and Gals!
The show began with Tila making all the new hopefuls drop their keys in a bowl by the door, and told them they'd have to earn their keys this season. She escorted them to their bedroom (yes, there is another huge big for all of them to share)and there's a bar in the room. Someone brought a blow-up doll, and immediately they guys began drinking.
Here comes the socializing, and the guys were basically trying to get a lesbian 101 course (come on, guys...they are who they are. What's the problem???)
Tila took everyone to the casino that she has in her house, and while she was trying to have a little one-on-one with Lisa, Kyle was constantly interrupting them. Tila and Lisa were a little irritated by this.
Next Tila went over to Sabrina. Remember, on the first episode, Tila made out with Sabrina. She was having fun with Sabrina and loving on her lips, but HERE COMES KYLE AGAIN. "I feel like I'm being attacked", said Tila to him. Sure, he was trying to win her over, but stalking is never sexy (don't lose your cool, Bro!).
Tila is supposed to be using the casino time to mingle with everyone, but she's only one person..so everyone won't get their fair shots. But seemingly, she's more apt to levitate towards the women moreso than the men. But this is still just the beginning.
Now comes the games. The game is "oh Craps". When you roll the dice, whatever clothing your dice falls on, you've got to take it off. When all your clothes are off, you are eliminated. The one with the most clothes on wins a date with Tila. Let the games begin!!!
It was down to George and Kristy, and they went to the VIP club with Tila. George was asked what he was looking for in a woman, but he really couldn't come up with anything great to say. Kristy bullied him around with words, and really went in for the kill to impress Tila. After awhile, the other guys and girls decided to bomb-rush the party-so they went up to Tila's club, and started partying hard. Girls were on the stripper poles and guys were shaking up drinks...and who comes knocking at the door? THE POLICE (damn, we can't party here???).
Stupid Jay who by this time was intoxicated started bad mouthing the cops. The cops said that there were complaints by the neighbors, and even when Tila tried to flirt to get out of the ticket, the cops weren't hearing that. The party went until Tila called it a night. Back in the bedroom, Kristy and Bo began playing around, and Kristy got upset when Bo hit her too hard from a pillow. Kristy, don't act like a baby-it was all in fun!
9 girls and 9 guys all in 1 bed. Then Chad decides he wants to let out a big fart. Thanks, Chad, we totally needed that.
Yawn. Nite-Nite everyone.
The next morning, Christian started off drinking. He said that in his country (Venezuela), they drink a lot like that. That was news to me.
Tila left a message in a bottle for everyone to go to her "recovery room" (so they could get over any hangovers). She had breakfast laid out in the kitchen, and it was really nice. George sort of broke up a bit when he realized that it was his mom's birthday (His mom had passed away, but he felt a little guilty for partying so hard and also sad because he missed his mom).
Jay and Chad decided to start throwing eggs, and making a mess in Tila's kitchen. Samantha got really upset and said that if Tila comes down, she'll think all of them were responsible. She wanted everyone to clean up, but then out of nowhere Scotty came up to her and poured juice all over her head. She was so pissed at him, and when Scotty tried to apologize, there was no forgiveness. She went off to go cleaned up.
Game Time!
There's a vault of money. On each turn, a guy and a girl will go into vault, and the girl needs to gather pink money and the guy needs to get blue money. In the end whoever can gather the most money for Tila will win. Everyone was looking so crazy inside the money wind vault. The three with the most money were V, Fame, and Britany. Brittany won with $40! The guys totally sucked at getting that money for Tila. The girls got to party with Tila in the hot tub, and she told them that the one with the best impression of her would get alone time with her in the bedroom. Once again, Brittany won. Strawberries and Kisses in the bed were making V and Fame so jealous; and Fame decided to interrupt their one on one time with a song (lol, Tila said she didn't know how much 'Fame' she'd get with that talent).
Before elimination, Tila decided to pull George to the side to find out why he didn't put his best foot forward, and he admitted that he was distracted because of his mom. Tila felt really compassionate towards him, and forgave him for not doing his best during the challenge because she understood what he was going through. He thanked her for caring, and told her that he really was there for her. And, to the confessional, Tila admitted that she thought she knew who was going to be eliminated, but now she had to rethink her choices because there are 18 people in the house, and 2 have to go home.
Sabrina got the first key. Those waiting keys were sweating out beads! The four remaining people were Fame, Lisa, Christian, and Kyle. Fame got booted(because this isn't American Idol)and Christian (maybe he was going to make her go broke by drinking all the liquor).

Recap:A Shot At Love 2 With Tila Tequila | Ep. 1 | 'Another Round Of Tequila'
Our favorite 4ft 11 celebrity is back with A Shot of Love 2 with Tila Tequila. The last time around, Tila found love with Bobby and Dani, but Bobby won her heart and was given the final shot of love with our beloved Tila.
But love wasn’t meant to be, as Bobby broke her heart. As most of our reality dating shows go, Tila’s giving her search for love another chance.
A Shot of Love 2 with Tila Tequila has begun, and 15 guys and 15 gals came party at Tila’s house. In order to decide who would spend time with her, Tila put the guys and the girls in oversized cages (one pink and one blue) and announced that there would be a dance-off challenge with guys versus the girls. The group with the best dance moves (“the less clothes the better”) won the first party time with Tila and a chance to make their first impressions count. And as tradition goes, it was Ladies First!
During the initial mixer time, Tila had a chance to make some connections with the ladies. Serenity got the first conversation with Tila, and there was an instant connection. Rada was up next, and she told Tila that if she didn’t want her, just be upfront and tell her. Kristy, a tall beautiful bi-sexual blonde showed off her intelligent side as well as her fun side. Lisa, the beautiful feminine looking tomboy played around with Tila. Tashi, the ebony beauty fan told Tila that she’d been a fan from way back in the MySpace days before Tila had a show. Lauren and Sabrina were sitting around the way, but when Tila joined them, she forgot all about Lauren and went right into a kiss with Sabrina. High pitched bubbly Sabrina has a little fun with our tiny sexy mama, too. Michelle and Fame (and inspiring performer) got a few seconds with Tila before Lili came over and pulled her to the side and dug in real deep, making Tila confess her feelings about being hurt by Bobby. Though Tila didn’t want to get emotional and relive the whole Bobby thing, Lili’s reason for doing this was to see what Tila feeling and if she was over Bobby before she opened her heart to Tila. Though the other ladies were annoyed by this, Tila found caring and sincere. She made other connections with the rest of the ladies (some good and some weird). And after the mixer, she announced that there would be a talent show. Some of the talents were hot, and some were just plain NOT. What the participants didn’t know was that the show would be their last time to make their impressions to our tiny starlet count before six would be eliminated.
After the talent show, Tila went off to herself so that she could deliberate. Sadly enough, while her back was turned the two that she’d found the most connections with (Lili and Serenity) disrespected Tila by engaging in a long (very long) tongue-filled make out session when Tila had her back turned; but she saw them. She was hurt and disappointed. When she came back into the elimination room and explained that if names were called, the women were to come up, return their keys, and leave because their shot of love had ended. Tila immediately told Lili and Serenity to come up front. She had initially wanted to go with her first instincts, “but that kiss changed everything”. She told the two of them to give her back her key and “Get the F**k out” of her house. After Tila explained her actions to the other ladies in telling them that she would not tolerate being disrespected and this whole thing was very serious. She also had to let four more ladies go, so Tara, Janny, Tashi, and Rada’s shots of love ended, too. The remaining ladies left the house, keys still in possession, so that the guys could get their chances.
Now it was time to let the guys into the house for a round of the same thing. Upon entering the mansion, the guys were amazed by the size of Tila’s house. She gave them their keys and explained that the longer they could keep their keys, the longer they had a chance at love with her.
Kyle was the first to pull Tila aside by asking her to show him around her house, and he was also the first to grab a kiss from her. The rest of the guys (especially Jay) were a little upset by that, realizing that they’d have to step up their game. Mason presented her with a present, a yellow flower. The twins (Greg and Dominic) confused her a bit, and she was frustrated that she couldn’t tell the difference between them. She made other connections with Matt, Ryan, and Chad (who was a little over confident) and this made Jay jealous again. Jeremy (Mohawk guy) was really weird to say the least. Bo showed Tila that he would do anything for her when he let her shave off his soul-patch for her. They shared a passionate and romantic kiss and his confidence really showed (poor George looked dumbfounded when this happened). Jay from Jersey finally got his chance with Tila, and he allowed her to put Mason’s flower in his…ass?! Bo began to pick on Jay and a scuffle almost started between them (let’s hope that both of them don’t end up in the house together).
Next was the chance for the guys to impress Tila with a runway style fashion show. Already Tila had been ‘exposed’ too much with Chad, and he pushed it to the limit by presenting with his “greatest” fashion wrapped all pretty in a box. Yuck! Bo looked stunning in his coach getup. And the other guys put on a pretty good show, but some of them crossed the line. Elimination time came and 6 guys were asked to leave. Of course, Chad was the first to go, due to his over exposure. She also said “Toodley Hoo” to Jeremy (the weird Mohawk guy). The other guys that she didn’t have a connection with were Nick, Matt, Chris, Mason, and Greg (the sweeter one of the twins), and they were asked to turn in their keys and leave.
In the next Episode of A Shot At Love 2 With Tila Tequila, the remaining guys and girls all move into the house, and we’ll see if the heat turns up.
